Just wanted to say good luck to all Sachem Students and Student Athletes this year.
You will all be facing some challenges that other classes have not faced with the budget troubles and discontent in our state, local and world economies. Yes all of these affect you daily.
Work hard in everything you do and come out better students so you all can fix this screwed up government.
Strive to meet all your goal whether personal goals, a team goals or a club goals.
Most of all do not let any of the roadblocks that have been thrust in front of you by state government, local school board member, your teachers, or even your parents stop you from reaching the goals you have set.
If you work hard to strive for these goals despite these roadblocks, whatever they are, you will come out on top and a better student, a better person and successful in whatever you chose to do later in life and most importantly be successful in LIFE.
“I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.”
Good luck! Work Hard!
Sachem is flush with cash... about $60 million above expenses. The board of special interest are doing every thing to create a catastrophe so they can continue their arbitrage game. None of the last three years of cuts were necessary. Worse we budget $287 million and have never spent more than $265 million.
Current cuts are to get people to vote for additional spending. Kids and education are once again held hostage by a Board of Blackmailers.
