Looking forward to sports night with the elementary schools. It always a lot of fun, good time.

I have a question though... Why is this always at North? Why is this event never at East?

Haha...no, teachers do not get paid for Sports Night. It is a totally volunteer night that teachers do because it is FUN for teachers and for kids!

Ridiculous! Teachers DO NOT get paid to go to Sport Night..or Healthy Fair, or Barnes and Noble Night, or Moving Up Ceremonies, etc. It's all for the sake of the kids!

Believe it or not, teachers actually care about their students. I am a sachem graduate who is currently student teaching (off of LI). The amount of time and effort I have seen teachers put into their job is absolutely incredible. Many teachers work well over the "6 hour school day." Many spend 8-10 hours a day in school, bring work home and come to school on the weekend. Enough is enough. People need to stop disrespecting our teachers and appreciate all the work they do. It doesn't matter if teachers get paid to attend sports night or not, they are still there. It is not written into the contract and it is something above and beyond.
