Siegel didn't have any base of support to win. His win the first time out was strictly from grass roots support. He lost that support when he was on the board. How did he act you ask? Well, the answer is just like a typical board member. He never pushed for opening discussion and was as quiet sitting there as the other board members. He fancied himself as a complete independent that could win on his own. Well, guess what you need support.
The surprise here is that most thought that in a three way race Vinci was the spoiler who was handing the election to Duncan. But when you look at the votes it was Siegel who was actually the spoiler. Vinci had a support base. Siegel lost his when he was on the board last time
