i am disappointed in the ESM school board for allowing the school administration to put forth for vote a budget that exceeds the 2% tax cap. This is a "slap in the face" to ALL the homeowners/taxpayers that live in the community. To my knowledge the teachers union has NOT offered any concessions within the last 5 yrs. The administration has taken salary increases that far exceed the rate of inflation and exceeds MOST private sector compensation increases. The school board has taken a YES attitude to all of the admin. requests and has ignored the needs and financial conditions of the community. Shame on you board members.....you know who you are.......there is reform coming.......Gov. cuomo will follow the leadership of Gov. Christie in N.J. and establish a salary cap for ALL school superintendants @ $175K per yr. with a declining salary structure. This is coming to NY....... salary caps, pension caps, staff reductions......ALL for the benefit of LI and the LI taxpayers......to restore L.I. to financial stability.

Why don't you blog. in your own neighborhood. We have enough negative comments here already.

How about you do your homework before you post.
1. They did not pierce the tax cap.
2. Teacher union renegotiated their contract last year and made 2 year concessions for this year.
You will see in a few minutes how much this district supports the schools. There is always a heavy yes vote at ESM.
