The comment made in the LI Press was off base. You don't blame the victim or the family of a crime victim in any way for being a victim - regardless of the crime or whether you are in the country legally or not - period.

That said until the idiots we vote for in Washington secure our borders there will be more violence related to this issue. 22K people have been killed along the mexican border - more than in iraq - most of it related to the Drug Cartels. It is a war zone and the liberal press downplays it. And for those who advocate for illegal immigration take note that 12% of Suffolk County Jails are filled with people in the country illegally. Many of those are gang bangers, and drug dealers. We ALL pay for this with our taxes and quality of life in many different ways. Violence is not confined to a group of teenagers who commit a hate crime. It runs on both sides of this issue just not reported in newsday that way. I am sad to say the violence is going to continue and get worse because politicians will not enforce the law. So keep your personal inane nonsense going, if nothing else it gives people a good laugh.

Actually, the total amount of people in prison in Suffolk County with unknown citizenship is 2.9% which is about 54 inmates.

Lying about facts doesn't support your prejudice. The truth also shows that violent crime and most crime in general across the United States is decreasing. Yes, there is a drug war in mexico, but that doesn't mean people from mexico are here committing anymore crime than anyone else. You can find that information at the following link.
