Regardless of what the the budget or tax increase is.... The voters decide.
If
a school district puts up a tax levy increase of 1/2% &
the budget is voted down (51% majority). they must put it up a second
time. If it goes down a second time the tax levy cannot be
increased.
If
a school district puts up a tax levy increase above 120% of the CPI increase or 2% and the budget and it is
voted down by 41% of the voters,. they must put it up a second time. If it
goes
down a second time the tax levy cannot be increased.
Simply put
Vote no twice and your school district doesn't get a dime.
Vote no for times and the BOE gets the message.
Vote no six times, unions contribute more to their benefits
and the Board spends our money wisely.
